Analysis of Year 2000 risks, identification of systems, drafting of plans, estimation of budgets, preparation of reports to prepare the VHA for its assessment and remediation of all at-risk systems. Agency went from "D" to "A". Developed an intranet/ Internet communications strategy to allow multiple agencies and expert working groups to share in solving the problem for VHA. Reviewed current IS strategic plans, resources and regulatory constraints to craft an efficient plan.
Developed and implemented a VHA interagency strategy in conjunction with the Federal CIO Council Subcommittee on Year 2000. Helped to establish policies and plans for Integrated Product Teams for Medical Devices, for Telecommunications and for Building/ Facility systems in VA to work with the corresponding FCIOC subgroups.
